ScopeGap is software that contractors use to analyse insurance estimates and write supplements. This page describes what the service stores, who else processes it, and how to get it deleted. It is written in plain English on purpose.
We do not use advertising trackers or sell data to anyone. Claims entered by one company are isolated from every other company in the database itself, not just in the interface.
A claim usually contains details about a property owner. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to put that information into ScopeGap, and for what you choose to upload. Please don't upload documents containing payment card numbers, social security numbers or medical records — the service isn't designed to hold them.
If you create a homeowner status link for a claim, anyone with that link can see a summary of that claim's status — no photos, no letters, and nothing editable. You can turn the link off at any time, which makes it stop working immediately.
Claims and files stay until you delete them or close your account. Deleting a claim deletes its files. Deleting your account removes your company's claims, letters, photos and settings straight away, not on a schedule — the one exception is a record we have to keep for tax or legal reasons.
Settings › Your account has a one-click export of everything we hold for your company, a switch for the reminder emails, and a delete button that wipes it all. You can also email us and we'll do it. If you're in a place with data protection rights — the UK, the EU, California and others — those rights apply to you here regardless of where you live, and we won't charge you for exercising them.
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Photos and documents are stored privately and opened through short-lived links, not public URLs. Access is controlled per company at the database level.
